Effective Storage Consolidation

The project which was delivered for the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences to provide new secure and dry storage facilities for departmental rock sample stores. The project enabled consolidation of a range of isolated Departmental stores and their associated real estate including implementation of an enhanced inventory management system.

The works included building over 5,000 lineal meters of compactus storage including mezzanine, electronic access control, an inventory management system, sample sorting workspace and life safety systems.

Empire were engaged to provide project management services across planning, design, construction and handover phases.

The key challenges for the project team and contractors was to deliver the project with minimal disruption to existing operations, students and faculty.

Delivering innovative storage solutions that were as compact as possible was key to the success of the project.

The Outcomes
