Supporting Industry

Forresters Road Distribution Centre is owned and operated by Stockland. It comprises 60,000 sqm of NLA over 3 separate warehouses. It is a modern facility located within proximity to rail, the Great Western Highway as well as the M4 and M7 motorways. Benefiting from various warehouse layouts and flexible design options, the 12-hectare site features drive-around access to all three of its buildings.

Empire’s scope of works was to provide project management services across Design, Approvals and Construction phases.

The Challenges

The project realised a number of key learnings associated with Fire Services upgrades associated with changes in standards between when it was constructed and the present day for which a Fire Engineering Solution was developed.

The Solutions

In addition to developing the Fire Engineering Solution, extensive value engineering was also undertaken to enable a variety of scope options to be considered against the available budget.

The Outcomes

Empire’s services supported the installation of translucent roof sheeting to warehouse A&B, façade painting, refurbishment of existing office and amenities and construct new, extension of existing car park along Forresters Road (additional 159 spaces) and construction of new car parking (additional 190 spaces). Fire services were upgraded including storage tanks and pumps.
