Emergency Building Reinstatement Works

Valmont^® Coatings, Industrial Galvanizers Sydney is located in Girraween adjacent to the Great Western Highway. This facility is equipped with a 12.5m structural galvanizing kettle capable of processing (hot dip galvanizing) columns and beams up to 18 metres in length.

The Plant has four treatment tanks in total and the structural kettle holds 385t of molten zinc. Four large overhead cranes are operated to move the product through the galvanizing process.

The building wall and roof of the plant are made from polyester resin which ignited in a large fire resulting in approximately 1,600sqm (circa 60%) of the 2,000sqm roof being damaged.

Due to the damage, the scope of works included a roof replacement and fire rectification.

Empire Project Management were engaged to provide Clerk of Works / Independent Verifier Services which includes the review and monitoring of progress for the rectification works and verification of the costs, materials and scope completion.
