Gaming Room Refurbishments

As part of the staged delivery of the El Cortez venue upgrades, the Gaming Room was opened to customers in December 2022.

The new design enhances the venue’s hospitality experience through the execution of well detailed joinery design combined with a sophisticated materials palette.

The integration of LED signage seamlessly introduces new technology offerings to customers within the new Gaming Room area.

Spatial enhancements to the Gaming Room include an increased ceiling height and open area giving better access to natural light.

Empire have been involved with all stages of the El Cortez project, with Stage 1 works being the first to reach construction completion.

The Challenges

Works required completing in stages to minimise disruption to the live operations of the hotel. There were also requirements to ensure lighting was energy efficient and ensuring there was seamless intregration between inside and outside zones.

The Solutions

Management of the delivery works was successfully achieved by carefully coordinating the scopes at different stages. New landscaping with carefully articulated placement of planting and water features assisted to blur the lines between inside and outside zones.

The Outcomes

There were updated external amenities and the construction of a new car park, new landscaping and a redesign of the VIP entry. All the refurbishments have extended the venue’s experience beyond just the hotel interiors.

Taylor Square

Taylor Square is one of the centers of Sydney's nightlife. There are many bars and nightclubs, as well as many restaurants and cafes.

Storage King Kunda Park

Empire were engaged by the client to produce a feasibility report for the extension to the existing storage facility at Storage King Kunda Park.

Cook School

The primary objective of the development is to facilitate additional teaching facilities to service existing and future student enrolments.
