Heritage Building Redevelopments

Whalebridge is an exterior dining seafood restaurant located in the heart of Circular Quay.

Our project consisted of the redevelopment of two existing heritage buildings called Kiosk 8 Circular Quay East & Kiosk 10 Circular Quay East.

Empire were engaged as Project Manager and Superintendent throughout planning, design, construction and handover phases.

 

 

The Challenges

In addition to the complex heritage listing development requirements, construction was managed during a difficult period with Sydney rains affecting external works for a long of the construction period.

The Solutions

Additional construction hours were added and managed accordingly due to rain delays.

The Outcomes

The refurbishment of the existing premises involved the complete fit out of existing buildings to incorporate a new commercial kitchen and bar. Included in the scope was the addition of external shade structures (umbrellas) and purpose-built counters for displaying seafood to the customer.
