Iconic Transformation

With over 50 years of operation, the Mounties group decided to carry out an extensive transformational project to increase the Club’s capacity to cater for an additional 39,000 members and strengthen its position as a leading entertainment and dining venue.

The scope of the project included a 40,000 sqm GFA, a new four-level basement car park, extensive gaming refurbishments and extensions, new bars, dining and restaurants, an auditorium and function facilities, a hotel, and significant upgrades to the site infrastructure

The Challenges

The first challenge was the fact that the Club was in operation during this transformation process. Stakeholder engagement and management needed delicate handling due to the history of the Mounties. Also, the fact that the project was self-funded meant regular cost reporting was critical.

The Solutions

Effective stakeholder engagement and management was achieved through clear communication, presentations and coordination meetings with all relevant stakeholders. We also held regular meetings with the CFO to enable the Club to make adjustments to accommodate their cashflow position. Also, to limit the impact on Club operations and to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests, the project was delivered across multiple stages.

The Outcomes

As of the time of writing, the transformation project of the Mounties group is still ongoing.
