Reimagining a manly icon

Manly Wharf Bar (MWB) is the reimagining of the eponymous venue which has held the Eastern corner of the jetty for the past 15 years. Developing upon the old sports bar and bistro, the project has reimagined the brand and feel, replanned the bar and kitchen experiences and relaunched anew.

At the water’s edge, Manly Wharf Bar incorporating Bar Tropic restaurant exemplifies contemporary beachside hospitality design that is timeless. Wharf Bar is expansive with high tables and stools and complements the more intimate Bar Tropic restaurant with private dining, that is a vision of white and detailed through innovative material application.

Empire were engaged to provide Superintendency Services throughout construction and handover.

The Challenges

With the scope of works including an extensive refurbishment to most public facing areas, there was a clear requirement to respect the history of the venue whilst providing a fresh and contemporary take on the brand and the customer experience.

The Solutions

Empire carefully managed all contract administration requirements and assessments of progress claims throughout the project whilst chairing all meetings between stakeholders to ensure the brand’s vision was aligned.

The Outcomes

The venue, including the Bar Tropic restaurant successfully exemplifies contemporary beachside hospitality design that is timeless and elegant.
