Campus Signage & Wayfinding

This project included the development of a strategic framework formulated to ensure the much-needed signage and wayfinding scope was captured and translated into the campus’-built environment.

The framework developed in concert with the Department of Psychology aimed at providing clear and comprehensive wayfinding for staff, students and the public through an audit, identification and creation of physical signs externally and internally facilitating the end-users needs.

As part of the framework, the University’s signage and wayfinding guidelines were reviewed and revised.

Empire were engaged to provide project management services across planning, design, construction and handover phases.

The key challenges for the project included working in a live environment with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring the University’s signage and wayfinding guidelines were reviewed and revised.

The Solutions

Strategic planning of the project ocurred to take into account the various wayfinding requirements for all possible audiences and scenarios.

The Outcomes

Intuitive, tasteful and clear wayfinding signage throughout the entire campus.
