ITAC is owned by the City of Sydney and operated by Belgravia Leisure. It comprises a basement gym facility, competition pool, family recreation break-out spaces, change room facilities, café, reception and offices that are connected by a complex array of corridors, steps and ramps. Empire provided project management services to support the procurement and administration of an accessibility upgrade and replacement of fixtures and various furnishings.

The Challenges

Ensuring strict compliance with all required government regulations and requirements. We needed to ensure that the refurbishment works improved the delineation between landings and stairs.

The Solutions

Stairs were stripped back and replaced with tiles and then overlaid with tactiles. Hazardous materials assessment was completed and an enhancement of fire protection and detection systems were completed.

The Outcomes

Improved and high quality bathroom facilities to further support persons with a disability. The project was seamless in delivery and encountered minimal disruption to live operations.

Storage King Kunda Park

Empire were engaged by the client to produce a feasibility report for the extension to the existing storage facility at Storage King Kunda Park.

The primary objective of the development is to facilitate additional teaching facilities to service existing and future student enrolments.
