The destination of choice

The All-Seasons Resort Hotel in Bendigo is a recent acquisition for Moelis Australia. MA wish to undertake a capital investment project to improve its market position and provide a new level of service to the local and visitor communities.

The venue comprises 4.5-star accommodation rooms, extensive conference and wedding facilities, an indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna, a large bistro, TAB sports bar and 100 EGM. The occupancy rate of the accommodation rooms is high, and the conference and function facilities are well utilised.

This project focuses on the gaming and F&B offers and addresses the current disparity between the floor space allocated to the TAB offer versus the claustrophobic gaming room. At the same time, repositioning the hotel reception will improve access and wayfinding. The venue is already a destination of choice for accommodation and functions and should also be the destination of choice for gaming patrons and sports bar patrons.

Empire were engaged as Project Manager throughout the design and construction phase.



The Challenges

Possible challenges this project could face are the tight budgets and short timelines as well as challenging approvals and issues with material supply. The VGCCC approval took 9 months.

The Solutions

We worked closely with the client to scale back the design to be able to deliver something more in line with their budget. We also worked very closely with a solicitor and the consultant team to answer all VGCCC queries whilst having the gaming plans updated to assist with this process.

The Outcomes

This project is still under construction.
