Earth & Planetary Sciences Geology Garage

This project was delivered for the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences with the objective of providing secure facilities for departmental fleet vehicles and a fieldwork plant.

Empire was engaged as Project Manager across planning, design, construction and handover phases. Our scope of works included civil pavements and drainage, onsite stormwater detention and rainwater harvesting, a new 200 sqm industrial vehicle shelter, a new high bay secure boat and vehicle shelter, perimeter fencing, automatic gates and CCTV monitoring.

The Challenges

The project was carefully planned and delivered in stages to minimise disruption to University operations. There was also key criteria to adhere to certain ESD requirements.

The Solutions

In keeping with the Universities sustainable design and innovation initiatives, the design solution incorporated a range of practical ESD initiatives including rainwater harvesting.

The Outcomes

This project successfully delivered on the objectives of providing secure facilities for departmental fleet vehicles and a fieldwork plant.
